A murder investigation has begun after the death of a man who was found in a car with a gunshot wound.

The man, in his 20s, was a passenger in a Mercedes that reportedly hit pedestrians and parked vehicles in Uxbridge Road, Hillingdon, west London, at about 14:45 BST on Thursday.

He was pronounced dead at the scene. None of the pedestrians are believed to have suffered serious injuries.

The driver of the car has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving.

The victim's next of kin have been informed and no further arrests have been made, police said.

The BBC understands this was the 13th fatal shooting in London this year.
